While I knew our life together would be filled with ups and downs, it was nice to be starting

out on such a high note.

Of course, I also didn't expect that high to come crashing down so quickly.

Our hearts sunk when the property owner, Sam, told us that Cory's card had been declined.

Unfortunately it was Sunday and Cory couldn't get a hold of his credit card company to sort

out the situation.

Sam was sympathetic but had been burned too many times by renters to cut us any slack.

Still, Cory was determined to show me the time of my life, no matter the cost.

Sam, look, there's got to be some kind of compromise that we can come up with here.

I mean, at least until the banks open tomorrow.

Oh, there is.

But I don't know if a young couple like you guys fresh from Minnesota would be up for it.
