Greetings! I am Ginger Perretard, the hairiest woman on earth.
This is Naked in the Kitchen, and today we're going to make fresh squeezed orange juice.
Why not? It's delicious.
So, actually what happened was, when my neighbors moved out, they moved out in this big hurry,
they had this situation, and they gave me and my housemates some of their stuff as they were leaving.
And among it, this beautiful citrus juicer.
So, yeah, why not use it, you know? We got it.
So I picked up a bunch of navel oranges.
So let me grab those from the fridge here.
You don't have to refrigerate your oranges, but in this heat I decided to.
It's been pretty hot lately.
And these oranges look a little wonky, and the reason for that is because I zested them earlier.
I made some jam. I did a bunch of cooking this week.
There's a bunch of apricots falling from our tree, so I was trying to turn them into jam.
And you can add a little orange zest to the jam with a little vanilla, and it makes it even better.
If you're going to zest an orange, zest it before you juice it, because they're a lot easier to zest when they're full like this.
But that's not part of the orange juice tutorial.
It's just letting you know why my oranges look weird. They don't all look weird. I didn't zest them all.
